Make sure you keep the seeds damp – don’t let them dry out during the process … they have to stay saturated (but not overly soaked). Keeping the seeds warm (on top of the fridge is a great suggestion by @aporay) will also help you successfully germinate.
      • Good point Δ-9! they can dry out before you know it. Especially once your furnace switches on and sucks the humidity out of your home.
          • @Δ-9 and @aporay– I know all about that. Can’t tell you how often in the past I’ve gone to check the towels after only a few hours AND the towel has gone dry. That’s why I don’t use or recommend that method. The tupperware trick came from the head grower over at Delicious Seeds. And I’m pretty pleased with the results. Thanks everyone…

      • If it’s a male – let the pollen sacs mature, collect the pollen, put it in a zip-lock bag and keep it in a dry, dark place. When you get a female plant, you can selectively brush the pollen onto specific flowers (bracts) with a small art paint brush (or make-up brush). Only the flowers that you brush the pollen onto will produce seeds…

If you are looking to increase your potency in the yield you can pinch or top the main cola/shoot during vegetation to render additional colas. Both techniques can be applied when the plant has 4 to 5 nodes. Pinching will yield 2 – 4 colas, topping will yield 2 colas.
Pinching: Pinch the newest formed leaves (top growth) at the top of the main…[Read more]

Removing the dying (yellow) leaves will help your buds. You can save and cure these leaves as they do have THC value. Once the plant enters flowering mode you need to focus on nutrients – buds love phosphorous so you can feed with a 10-30-10 mixture (nitrogen-phosphorous-potassium). You can boost with some extra potassium towards the end of the…[Read more]

This is a tried and true method for sure. Distilled water is a good choice – 2 sheets of paper towel on the bottom, 2 sheets over the seeds (not to wet). You can cover with an additional paper plate. Make sure you don’t let them dry out. Time to transplant when the tap root is just about 1cm out of the seed (you don’t want the root overexposed to…[Read more]

Black Afghani – this was a few years ago. A rare strain which is dominantly Indica. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to bring her back. I like growing from seed and keeping a male under control to brush pollen on specific bracts. We took a break from our grow cycle and I haven’t been able to propagate the seeds in our bank … but we will keep trying!
